Default Clicking front end

Hey Guys, got a 2001 4.7 4X4 QC.

I have began to notice a small sharp clicking that I feel in the steering wheel, while driving. It does not seem to be a suspension issue as I feel it with out hitting any bumps.

I was wondering if it could be a wheel bearing going. Not the typical wheel bearing symptoms that i am a where of. It doesn't happen not on a regular bases, noticed it this weekend more in the damp. It seems to be coming from the drivers side front.

I do not notice anything at Highway speed really just around the 30 mpg area.

Any ideas????

does it get worse in reverse? if so, ill lean toward the cv joint on the front propeller shaft. (driveshaft). could also be one of the cv joints on the front axles.

I think the issue might be the upper ball joint on the drivers side. I lifted the truck last night and the top of the wheel moved in and out about 1/4 of an inch. Will be putting in a new one today and if that does not fix it onto the CV joint.
