Angry Beware very poor quality distributor caps!

Beware very poor quality distributor caps!

This is for all of you with poor running engines and don’t know why?

This could be one of your problems very poor quality distributor caps and rotors on the market cheap China crap and being sold by your local auto store.

First very short posts inside of the cap just enough to make it work but with a very short life expectancy I also suspect very poor quality cooper/brass and even weak springs for the rotor carbon point very weak.

These caps are warped also the terminals may not be properly spaced.

These caps are garbage and you may only save $5 people these are store brand parts what do you think that means. My suggestion is dealer for these needed quality parts or airtex-wells the quality one is an airtex-wells listed as premium on rockauto.

Very poor quality

What was that a Borg Warner? The 5.2 has a short Cap nothing like the 2.5 but I would not dought it one bit.

I know that SMP (Standard Motor Products) bought out Borg some time ago.. and I've noticed their parts have really gotten **** poor quality.

Thats why you never buy cheap parts that deal with fuel and spark. Napa gold ftw!

Angry I agree 100%

I agree 100% get the best for your ignition system it depends on 100% accuracy for a great running engine.

Places like A--zone and rilly they now only sell their own brand and that is all they sell you have no choice. I don’t know about where you live but this is my only option the zone one choice there house brand rilly there house brand or a no name brand.

We have NAPA in AZ but I have never used them and a few pepboys just a few but not close to me.

I cant believe they sell this crap

I have noticed the very same thing about the cap`s , cheaply made and don't last . I got tired of spending the extra cash for the heavy duty cap (grey one) only to replace it again not even a year later , so this time i bought the black cap to save a few bucks because i know it probably wont last any longer than the grey cap and the engine doesnt even know the difference ! I want to try the kit from summit raceing but im hesitant to pay more for the same problem as they probably source theirs from china also ,,

I like Napa Parts; Look at those parts at Big-O's and A's and then Napa's and there is a hudge quality difference for sure.
