Default Starting to build my custom console

I'm starting to build my custom center console today. Anyone do this or anything similar to give any tips? i'll post pix and make a writeup as it goes along. The console will be housing multiple switches for lights and whatnot, a CB radio, a siren box, and a scanner eventually. It'll be wood wrapped in leather and batting. Templating starts today. wish me luck

EDIT: how do you remove the existing cupholder/console for the bench seat?

removed middle seat and did some brainstorming with a few friends today. Gonna ditch the center seat completely, but keep the arm rest/console storage thing and run the console all the way to where the seat ends, and leave the under rest area for fuse blocks and other wiring and what not. I'll post pix tomorrow of the templates i made and hopefully pick up the siren and cb tomorrow and all the wood and wiring things and start working. Should be a fun weeklong project.
