Default Winner: dirtiest throttle body

Well I changed the plugs out last week on my 2000 dakota 4.7, when i took the air hat off i noticed my throttle body was quite dirty on the outside so i could only imagine the inside but i didnt have any cleaner so i ended up buying some yesterday and heres a few pics from it. I should get an award for this 1500000 Kms and i bet this is the first time its ever been cleaned! truthfully i didnt find any real difference afterward, i even picked up some seafoam and ran it through today also, right after i cleaned this and got little to no smoke out of it and still i feel no difference. is this normal or am i just crazy?

I dont have a pic of it anymore. Not that I can find anyway. But my woods beater had 216k on it and the throttle body was never off!
