Default Water Pump 2004 4.7
anybody know how far to insert the gasket on a new water pump, all the way in or just to hold in it place till its ready to bolt on?? Thanks guys for all your help

I've always used Gasket Maker real fine; to ensure a good seal as well hold gaskets in place. For water; I normally use the Orange or Blue stuff.

Anyone else wanna chime in?

The 4.7 has a o-ring type seal just put it in the grove apply some grease to help it seal.

it it inserted all the way, or just enough to keep it from falling out ? thanks for your help
