Default pcv valve

i wasnt aware that i had a pcv valve. (ignorance on part) i started puffing smoke out my tail pipe and my neighbor, a mechanic by trade, asked when the last time i changed my pcv was. i said never. ok, so i looked in my haynes and saw that it is located on the oil fill tube. found it.......how the heck do get to it/ get it out? my A/C hard lines run right next to it. i talking a 1/4 inch from it. it looks like the only way to take it out is to remove the air box. shoot me some ideas please. oh yeah, i have the 4.7

It is a bear or least mine was. Grasp hold and pull firmly. They are seated in there good.

the book says to turn 90 degrees counter clockwise, then pull. cant turn it due to the a/c lines. so.... just pull?

Remove the hose from it, push in, turn counter clockwise about 90* and pull it out. It might be stuck in their from all the crud and muck from the oil vapors. Maybe try spraying some carb/throttle body cleaner around and in it. Once it's out, clean the passage and put a little lubricant on the o-ring on the new one before reversing the process.

It is index. Has a spot on pcv valve that corresponds to slot inside the hole so you have to turn 90 degrees to line them up. Not a lot of room but you should be able to get a hold of it or maybe pliers. And a good soaking with WD may help

Default pvc is installed WOW

so i would rather change my pads and rotors than do that again. yes it is index. i knew that. there is 3 a/c hard lines in the way that i used a bungie cord to "kinda move a bit" and i had to remove my air box to give enough clearance to pull it out. after all of that and burning myself on the a/c lines,( i should have let it cool, iknow iknow) i got the new one in only to find the old one was just fine. it had vacuume and it rattled. oh well, it maintainance. first one in 250k miles. anyway thanks for the help folks. always much appreciated!! on a side note, the folks at auto zone said they had never seen one that obstructed before on any dak or durango. i thought that was odd.
