I am looking to buy a 2001 dakota. it is the quad cab 4.7L v8 4x4. It has the tow package on it as well. The truck is in very good condition besides the rear. its making a grinding sound like when brake rotors are rusted when you step on the brake. He tells me the rear needs new bearings but i was thinking of buying a used rear and putting it in. Its going to need ball joints as well. The rust and slight rot on the rear driver side quarter over the rear, and rust on the tailgate where it was backed into something. Other than that the truck is good. paints good, besides averagescratches for a 11 year old truck,brakes are good and recently done, the water pump wasnt leaking like i heard they like to do, bed liner, chrome step rails. the price is $3800 with a set of american racing rims for it. Is this a good deal? I can do the work myself but is there anything else i should look for or worry about later on.

 

the dak i bought i bought cause it had rust on the fender, cause i thought it was sold cause of the rust, hoping the rest was ok. and thats what i found. may be i was lucky .
