freeze plugs & motor mounts
Had the driver side rear freeze plug above the starter rust out and make a mess...
The plug on the passenger side rear is fine, but both front plugs are rusting out under the motor mounts.
The back 2 are nice and easy to get to and replace (should have done both, but oh well).
How the &^%$#!#$%^ is one supposed to get to the front plugs? Put a floor jack under the oil pan and remove the mounts????

Ok
Ok Im not sure they make these anymore but they used to sell I guess you could call them a temp fix its a rubber plug that has a bolt in the middle of it that expans it as you crank it down.
Is the freez plug gone if so use one of these as a temp fix

eh, truck's getting old and it's been abused. Have a feeling the PO before me never used antifreeze, just straight water. The freeze plug that failed was rusted through 180 degrees when it finally let go. Last I checked antifreeze doesn't rust out steel, water does.
Can't get brass ones at OR, either.
It's not a problem to replace them- just $20 in antifreeze and $7 a pop for the plugs. But the 2 bad ones left are under the motor mounts, so it's impossible to get to them. Don't know if you're supposed to jack the motor up with a floor jack under the oil pan, or use a cherry picker hoist, or what.

There's not even room to knock the old ones out or get new ones in. I have trouble just getting my pinky in there to feel if they were rotting out or not. It's a tight fit.

There's 4 on the 3.9. They're put between the cylinder bores on each side. The driver side back one failed and was replaced, the passenger side back on doesn't seem to be bad, but both front ones are bad and are hidden under the motor mounts. I don't know if there are 2 on the back of the block behind the flex plate, but I have a feeling there are.
