I changed my plug wires today and replaced all 8 plug wires and one going from the distributor to a block on the front side of the engine just behind the alternator.

There was one more wire that came in the box that I couldn't find a place for. What am I missing?

 

It's just an extra. I had a set from Napa that came with an extra.

I have an 8 cyl. It's the 5.2
