Default Would Map-sensor cause cold start-up wild idle?

Also, power surging at driving speeds? (30 t0 50 mph)?
And, bogging when you give it more gas??
TPS sensor maybe? No codes. It's a '99 318 auto. 4x4.
It just started a day ago. It got a tune-up about a month ago.
No build-up looking down the thoddle body into the manifold.
Any ideas?

Well, I replaced the map-sensor and it DID help.
It's not gone but, better. It still surges as if it's getting gas and then not.
The map-sensor was free but my next guess do to the fact it's not throwing a
code is the TPS sensor. ( Don't know what that is gonna cost). I looked again for a vac leak but I couldn't find anything.
ANY ideas would be welcomed. Thanks.

Use the money you're going to spend on a TPS and buy a cheap scanner instead. Something that not only reads codes, but will give you a data stream. That way, you can actually check your TPS, MAP sensor, O2 sensors, etc. Otherwise, you're just going to go broke throwing parts at it.

(Serious answer. Not trying to be a douchebag.)

What Tom said. I was going parts crazy over something similar to what you're describing. $150 later, had a bad coil wire.

Check the basics first enough fuel pressure? check engine vacuum ,should be pulling minimum 18 inches at idle. Scan for codes. ohm out the coil I have seen coils do this.

UPDATE,.. It was the fuel-filter on the bottom of the pump.
I had a rad-shop boil out the tank & replaced the whole fuel
pump assembly. 20 bucks to boil the tank,.. 130 with shipping
for the pump. 1 1/2 hrs total for removal and install in my garage.
Lucky I didn't have to fight rust taking the tank down. Truck runs
good now. Now it's time to paint the hood! (Clear-coat is starting to lift).
