**** or wheels bro, they both cost you money! At least the truck won't argue with ya. Napa will have the gear oil your looking for as well as lsd additive. Good luck!

I feel the same way too.. but hey.. 15 year old truck... that was **** poor designed at best to begin with.. LOL!

But yeah.. mine had same thing.. it was hardly no fluid.. remove the skid plate; remove the pan.. clean up the pan and the mounting surface; you can get the pumpkin gasket; (aftermarket) or just use black ATV sealant.. just let it cure over night before refilling. Problem solved. From factory it seems they just used sealant so over time it's going to leak.

Easy fix.

Ah hell its all good by the time you r done you'll know that truck like the back of your hand, and be proud that you fixed it all, bought mine for 800 and sunk 3500 into it did all the work myself..cussing all the way LOL, but now ..Its my lil beast, and when i pull off a light there's usually no one beside me, muahahaha, Oh and they'll probably have the friction additive wherever you buy the gear oil

Thanks guys,

I popped the cover off and resealed it and it's looking good, I let it sit over night cause I used RTV and just put some oil in this morning, I'm thinking I should change the rear oil too because the seal may be going on that one.

All in all - was a pretty easy job... now, place your bets on whats going to go wrong next hahaha!

Cheers

Transmission.. 99.9% of these trucks have tranny issues. It's a dodge thing.

Default you may be right

My Dakota was a factory new well sort of new truck it was a repo truck with 5K on it and it has had two flaws that I still have. My AX-15 trans has no revers syncro that stinks that’s the way they were made and second gear has always been hard to get in when cold when it warms up it shifts fine. She is still the same after 14 years no worse no better.

Default it would be interesting to see

it would be interesting to see if all AX-15 trans have the second gear flaw.

Anyone with the AX-15 do you have the same flaw?
