Tranny line on RT busted
What is the box under the driver seat under the floor with lines going to the transmission? I have a line spraying fluid out. Can I just splice it? With a normal fuel line and normal clamps? It is a 2000 RT automatic. Thanks for any help.
the trans lines carry's high pressures as much as 300 PIS in some lines. others are lower. use ONLY steel brake lines, doubled flair. copper ect will NOT hold. use as little hose as you can, MUST be high pressure hose. your parts man will know which ones to use. all so go to auto zone get 2210 magna-fine filter, it looks like a fuel filter. its for power steering fluid, all so made for trans filter. it uses 3/8 tubing, with hose. most chrysler trans use 3/8. one made for 5/16 tube is wix 58964 all so a trick i use that i get flamed over a lot, is useing rearend grease in the transmission to stiffen up trans shifts. it may not be for everyone.
Duh! I feel stupid. it is a busted brake line. Fluid is red looking. When the light hit it. When the line broke it sprayed all over the tail shaft and hose going to the tranny. What a throw off! i feel stupid but better, I guess that makes me feel a little better now that it is a brake line.
