Default Rad Removel

Hey Guys my rad is leaking where it is crimped on to the plastic at the end.
I have a 2001 4.7 4X4 QC how long does it take to get the rad out and does it lift out once you pull the plastic Res and Fan shroud out.

I would like to do it my self to save cash.

Thanks

Default DIY or shop cost

Look on the first page of the forum you can download a service manual with all the info you need.

But usually it’s not that much in labor at a shop I would get a few estimates then check what just the rad may cost and possibly a hose or two plus antifreeze and clamps so on then come to a conclusion on DIY or shop cost verses time to do it.

Just did mine.Got the antifreeze out than removed upper shround than top and bottom hose, Removed 2 transmission lines. There are two bolts up top and it should pull up and out. If you haven't done so recently should change thermostat too.

Sorry lower shround should come off to and you need to unplug Electric fan. I left fan on and swap to new one when it was out the truck.
