second try

My 98 Dakota 3.18 with 53k won't start on the first try. It will start on the second try. Can anyone help me. New plugs,new wires,I've tried turning on the key and turning it off then trying to start it.

Could have the fuel system bleeding down and it has pressurize the system before it starts. Does it restart OK after starting it for the first time?
