did ya reset the computer?? because I could be wrong but i believe they r one in the same, I searched manual and couldn't find a accelerator position sensor

apps sensor I think is for fly by wire throttle control no throttle cable. I think diesels have them so don't worry you need to check the wiring harness for 5 volts from the PCM the sensor ground and also the out put from the sensor looking into the plug disconnected left to right 5 volts dc /sensor output /sensor ground. With key on engine of sensor output should read .35 volts to .90 volt with Tps full open 4.5 volts
