Default Removing engine decal (near front headlights) on '99 Dakota

Hey all,

I just removed most of my decals from my Dakota, but the engine emblems (the ones right next to the side of each headlight) are still there.

Is there a way to remove these without damaging my paint?

It seems like they are glued pretty tight on there.

Thanks,
Brady

pry it off the glue and sludge will come off with wd 40 and a soft plastic scraper just get as much of it off before you start scrapping. just take your time

It took some elbow grease, but I got it all off. I didn't realize that there were two holes that the emblem locked into though. I might have to fill those in and sand them down somehow.

maybe cover them with an after market reflector or light that sucks it'll be a pain trying to fill and sand without damaging the surrounding paint

I used a hair dryer and some fishing line to cut the adhesive off mine, then elbow grease to get the residue off. My '99 had an alignment pin and a hole in the fender behind it - I understand some don't - perhaps different year models. Just check it out before you do it if you are thinking of leaving it unbadged. I put a Cummins badge in its place after my swap so it worked well for me.
