3.9L v6 upgrade to v8
I have a 1997 9.3L v6 2wd automatic Dodge Dakota. I can provide additional details if requested.
I perform regular maintenance (change oil, brake pads, etc) on the pickup, but am not comfortable doing extensive work myself . I am curious is it is worth pursuing a v8 to replace my current v6.
I know there can be all sorts of comparability problems, and would just like a quick suggestion as to whether or not this sort of thing takes extensive modifications to the vehicle, or if I am likely to find a mechanic that will be able to drop in a different engine with little specialty work.
I did see some posts from the sticky in the 2nd Gen Dakota forum, but got lost in the details... Technical details are welcome, but may need to be explained because I have no experience working on engines. I can provide additional details if requested.
Thanks for the assistance!
