According to my factory trip computer, I get 11.7mpg average.

5.2L, 5-speed, 6" lift, 33" tires, 4.10 gears (corrected speedo), and headers.

It really helps the 3.9. If I put a throttle limiter on it, could probably squeeze alot better #'s out of it. The highway isn't that bad really, unless I were to lose O/D. Then I'd have a problem. Based on every graph I've lookedat, The V6 makes peak torque around 3200. Probably could have gone 4.56 and not changed MPG much more, seems like between 2 and 3.5K there's zero mileage shift. Up around 38-4400, that's where all my MPG goes. On the city I'm lucky to get to 3rd gear from having my foot in it too much.

When I had my dak 5.2 4x4 auto intake, exhuast, sct with 32's and 3.55's I used to get about average of 14-15 mpg. Usually it was like 8mpg in town and 16-18 highway. I upgraded in a big way my ram is 3,000 lb heavier with 4.10's and 33's and I get 15-16mpg in town and anywhere from 18-22mpg highway depending on speed. Gotta love those manual diesels!!

My 2001 with 3.9 auto got 22.1 mpg on a recent trip from Buffalo NY. to the Canfield Ohio swap meet and back. 70mph most of the way about 2200 rpm.
cold and raining most of the drive.
Not bad for a truck with 220,000 miles on it.

I win. 3.7L, manual transmission, 4WD with canopy, on highway average 20 mpg (19-21). Since you can drive this thing at 1500 RPM, I drive like an old lady most of the time. I've had it about 6 months and put about 5000 highway miles on it (I do drive 60-70). I don't drive it in town. My in town rig is one of several bicycles which get absolutely phenomenal mpg.

I finally decided to look at the plugs and there wasn't much left of the electrodes - maybe the originals (95K). So I replaced those, noticed better throttle response, and am hoping to do even better on the mpg

I'm getting between 15 & 17 mpg on good days and that is a combination of highway and city driving. I do about 40 miles round trip everyday for work. The best thing that I have done so far that actually made a difference in my mpg was putting a v-8 throttle body in my truck.

I generally get right around 13 in town and on interstate. I can get better while using cruise control, but surprise surprise it just stopped working a couple of days ago. oh well I'll just stick around town.
