My A/C won't charge above 35psi? Any ideas?
Hey everyone,
I just bought a can to recharge my A/C, and it seems like I can't get my system to stay above 35psi.
The recommended psi, influenced by the outdoor temperature, is supposed to be between 50 - 55 psi.
I can charge it up that high, but then I see it slowly creeping back to 35psi on the meter.
My A/C seems a little bit cooler, but not much.
Any ideas?

First are you using one of those simple one can hand pump things?
If so they are not very accurate could be off as much as 10 psi.
Second yes as you pump it in it will go up then down as it gets in the system
50 - 55 psi. is kind of high unless you live in a very hot place thats in the 100 temp

first off. you shouldn't have to recharge the refrigerant. if you do, that means you have a leak. which is more than likely the reason it will not hold pressure too. i would take a spray bottle with soapy water and start spraying connection joints and the condencing coil down. look for bubbles forming.
Good luck getting him to do that I have become a realist on these things most dont want to even try to fix anything they just want to keep pumping Freon in.
Thats a laugh check for leaks ha this is 2012 you know.
