Default need some advice

I'm looking at an 01 Dakota, 4x4 4.7 with 170k on the clock. It needs some tlc. As far as i can see it needs seals on the front axle, exhaust manifold has a leak. VERY rusty underneath. And it seems to be in limp mode. Starts in 2nd gear, won't go into o/d, and the gear selector disappears when you put it into drive. Checked the mil and it comes back as o2 sensors and an evap leak. Do you guys think it would be worth $2000?

Rust can be the death of a truck. If there's a lot you'll be pouring money into it, be careful. Doesn't sound like it was serviced regularly either.

Thanks for the reply. He said his job requires him to travel a lot so it was mechanically sound but it sat for a year after he got a new truck and kinda fell apart

I guess to be a little more specific, the frame rails are fine. The only things that really made me say omg was the brake lines, the exhaust and what appears to be a/c lines are very corroded.

$2000 dollars for a 4x4 2001 is a good price. I would suggest to look it over real good. Go in to it knowing what your have to look forward too as far as repairs.

Well i went ahead and bought it. After some tracking and wire testing i found that pin 53 on the tcm had no ground. I spliced in a piggy back connector to a good ground and limp mode is completely gone. Anyone know where pin 53 actually grounds to so i can fix it right?
