I have had this 04 STX for a year now nd am having a minor problem.

When I first got the truck I noticed that the driver side handle for the seat, to recline or to allow passenders into the rear seat, kind of spun around without biting so to activate the folding mechanism.

The passender side handle seemed to work but could be a little tempermental at time. Suddenly this week the passenger handle broke off in my hand. So now I have no way to access the rear seat.

I peered undernetath the seat to where it connects and it looks like a screw had been holding it all together. I am going to replace both handles. Has anyone had this experieince before? Any good source for the handles? Anything unusual I should know before attempting? Please don't send me to my local dealer. They are so bad.

I took the handle off the driver side and sure enough the gear threads on the hande were worn smooth.

I took the handle from the passenger side and placed it on the driver side and that seems to be working just fine. The problem is still the passenger side.

The handle is ok, but the long plastic piece, about 3" that goes into the mechanism under the seat, broke off. This means I have to replace this piece.

Anyone have any idea how this piece is replaced? I think the seat has to come out. Is this difficult?
