Default Interior Work

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy the ac/heater vents/guards for the interior of the car? Mine are all cracked and broken. Also, the ash tray/cigarette lighter set up is broken and hanging down. Anyone know where to pick one of these up? I cant seem to find these items anywhere online....junk yard? Anyone ever changed them out before?

LMC Truck doesn't have them. A quick search google and Ebay turned up the air vents, but only for the 97-00 interiors. You're best bet would probably be to go to a junk or salvage yard to obtain these pieces. They are accessible with common tools. A rough estimate would be around $60 for all the parts you are looking for.

Oh, and welcome to the forum! Don't forget to post pictures of you're Dakota to the pictures thread in the sticky. We would love to see them!

Cheers, DuckandDodge

Yep a junk yard is your best bet for the vents. They just snap into the holes in the dash bezel. The far right one also snaps in. They pop out pretty easy with a putty knife or a trim removal tool. The dash vents are easy to do when you have the bezel removed. I don't know about the ash tray. I don't smoke and my truck has no ash tray or lighter. I did add a 12 volt socket for my cell phone charger though.

ebay, graiglist, and savage yards are you best bets. you will just have to comb through a bunch of stuff to find what you want. i got lucky and was able to got a parts vechicle for most of my needs.

the ash tray should have a metal spring on the side of it. mine came off some how. but when i put it back on. it worked perfect.

Hey I was cleaning up my garage a few days ago and found the vents from the junk yard dash bezel I bought when I had replaced my original dash bezel. I forgot that I had those from a few years ago when I had removed my dash I accidentally scratched the dash bezel in the area above the steering column. It bothered me enough that I bought another dash bezel at the junk yard. I took my original vents and put them in the replacement bezel, because they were cleaner and I did not feel like washing and scrubbing the ones from the junk yard.

Long story short, if you want the vent pieces I will mail them out to you for free. Here is a couple pics of the vents I have. I have two of the little coin pockets too, one has a hole in it from when I had a K40 radar detector control **** mounted in the pocket, and I don't know how I have the other pocket. I have the left driver's side vent and the center vents. If you want them PM me your name and address and they are yours.
