Have a question about scan tools.can a obd2 scan tool be
use on a 1997 Dakota

Yes an OBDII code reader or scanner can be used on a 97. All US 96-up vehicles come with OBDII ports.
I will move this to the 2nd generation Dakota sub-forum.
