Exhaust Manifolds
People, people, people.
Have an issue brewing with Dodge re my truck. Tis an '03 Dakota CC, 4.7L, 4x4. The issue is ehaust leaks/warped exhaust manifold/broken studs.
Truck has done nothing tougher than grocery shopping weekly since new and has 98k on the clock.
ANYONE and EVERYONE who has had similar issues with this engine PLEASE PM my email with name, year and VIN. I am gearing up to take on Chrysler Customer Service.

my 2001 dak V-6, mine leak a little now. BIG hint. when you put the the manifolds back on, dont tighten them full tightness the first time, take them to only 70-80% of full tightness. then run it for 6-8 FULL heat cycles, then finish tighten them. that way you dont have to redo it.
Absolutely. Proper procedure actually envolves tightening them to spec then backing them off a quarter of a turn...gives the manifolds room to expand...I've had this tick on my 01 for a few years... only lasts for about 20 seconds until manifolds heat up then it goes away... I turn the radio up!
