Question Can I replace a 233D with a nv233 ? Transfer Case HELP please.

Hey guy, my driving shaft decided to let go and beat my transfer case in the same time.

My transfer case tag say 233 D, can I replace it with a NV233 ? They are about half the price than the 233 D. I don't even know what that D stand for ?

I have the electric selector, 2wd 4low and 4hi.

From my search I think I could buy one for an automatic transmission and just change the input shaft. Can anyone help me on this one please ?

Thanks

My truck description is:
Dakota 2001 4x4
4.7L with manual tranny

Allright from my search I fond that the D at the end is only for Dodge ... So any TCase nv233 should work.
Find here: http://www.dakota-durango.com/forum/...ad.php?t=87114

Now I'm still wondering what is the difference between Automatic and manual transmission on these ... ? I can only find some that where on automatic transmission, could I make them work for my manual transmission ?

I decided to call a some shop get an answer and here it is since I didn't find anything on the net about this.

NV233 or NP233 are the same TCase. It's just different compagny who build the internal but every part should be the same.

I've been told that you can switch the Transfer case from an Auto transmission to a Manual one no probleme, it's the same damn transfer case.

Well I'll keep this thread update after I receive my replacement who come from an auto transmission. Will see, hope he was right !
