7" tablet in 2000 dakota
Hello All,
I decided that I wanted a double din stereo with a nav system a little while ago.
This lead to my doing alot of research into fitting one into chryslers 1.5 din slot in my Dak.
To my dismay, I found that without major surgery to my dash this was not going to happen.
I then had the idea to dust off my acer Iconia tablet and see about fitting that.
It fits with only modifications to the trim bezel, and some custom epoxy work.
The tablet is the perfect choice since it can handle all media functions, gps and nav and whatever else I can possibly dream up to do in my truck.
The tablet is connected to a relocated aftermarket headunit that provides the audio amplification for the tablet aswell as cd/radio/usb input.
Below are some pics of the process of fitting the tablet into the bezel, I didnt take any of the install of the headunit below the tablet unfortunately, but that part was really easy and only required a slight amount of trimming.

I forgot to mention the back side.
The opening on the front of the bezel is just slightly smaller then the tablet screen so it slides in from the back side, there are 2 small plastic posts glued to the bezel and a flexible plastic strap that goes across the back of the tablet to keep it against the bezel.
