Unhappy 2003 Dakota 4.7L ******HELP******

Hi

I am in deep trouble my truck suddenly started to leak antifreeze coming out of what appeared to be the front part of the fan (don't know if it was the water pump?) l'm looking for leaks... it was a mess the fan was throwing the stuff all over the engine and hood it was hard to see where it was coming from?

Also when this whole thing with the antifreeze leak started my steering wheel began to be hard to turn?

I'm guessing it was antifreeze leaking even though it looked kind of oily and also my truck began to overheat.

Please Help.................

Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

why does this make you in deep trouble. this is just a water pump failure. also hard to turn the steering wheel would be from the belt slipping on the power steering pump since antifreeze is slippery. also yes if the pump isn't moving water through the engine or you have leaked all your fluid out it will start to heat up.

seems to be the issue....I just did mine last month for the first time on my Dak; the hardest part was getting the fan-nut off, LOL....after that, it was all down hill, and actually didn't take that long to do....most of the time is spent scraping the old gasket off....lol

come on Bravocompany! get 'er dun soldier!

IDK guys. I had the same symptoms in my 02 4.7 and it ended up being a blown headgasket. Blew the cap right off shooting coolant all over the engine bay/windshield. Overheating, poor performance, horrible fuel mileage, rough idle, etc. God this motor is unreliable.
