front shock problem...
i have a 2001 dodge dakota sport 3.9L V6 2 wheel drive. so i was putting new front springs on today and as i was taking the bolts off of the pasenger side shocks from the lower control arm one if the bolts broke off. naturaly the broken piece is about half way the the nut that is welded onto the upper side of the lower control arm. my question is what would be the best way to correct this? should i just break off the welded nut and just use a loose nut and bolt or will it be fine with just the one bolt holing it? or is there a way to get that broken bolt out of that nut? any info will help.

You could drill it out and use a separate nut and bolt, it will do fine. I had to do that on my old Jeep Comanche back in the day and it held up with no problems at all. Can you reach in between the spring coils with vise grips and turn the bolt out that way? Unless the bolt was rusted real bad it should not take much to loosen it so you can turn it out by hand. PB Blaster or Kroil will help loosen it up too.

If removing the springs as you say just use some visegrips and get it removed as it will be easy to get to after the spring is out. Did you spray everything with WD 40 or one of the other lube sprays like you should always do at the start?
