Default 2001 EVAP Leak

So when I bought my truck it had a check engine light that was about an EVAP leak. I have discovered the gas cap was an after market gas cap and it fit improperly. Got a new one from a dealer deleted the code and it came up again but now is registered as a small EVAP leak. Is there anything you guys could advise me to look at or replace??

Any help would be greatly appreciated

It usually a small hose going into the charcoal canister underneath the drivers side of the truck. These hoses are known to crack over time and therefore some of the gas vapors are escaping instead of being filtered through the canister. The hose is like $30 at the dealer and is pretty easy to change. Fortunately, this code and issue doesn't affect how the truck runs, but it's still an easy fix. Very common issue on Dakotas.

Trakdafam interestingly enough that is how mine was and the gas cap fixed the big leak alert. Bpark thank you I will look at that, I think I know exactly what your talking about cause I think I saw that hose already. If anyone else has suggestions just in case that doesn't work please feel free to mention them.

Ya forgot to post earlier I got under my truck and looked there, two small cracks neither longer than 1/4-1/2 inch. I will get it fixed sometime within the month.
