I have 33s and a 3.9 , have a standard tranny tho. Yea I've noticed the difference with a larger tire, want to re-gear just haven't found a set yet. Giving the 3.9 some up grades has helped but gearing is the way to go.

If you do mostly highway driving, you should be fine. Just don't get anythign with too aggressive of a tread pattern- your OD will thank you.

Or just remember to hit the OD off button every time you get in the truck. 33's are a enough overgear that you may not need OD.

Till I get some money for a regear i'll hold off. I will never remember to turn OD off in the mean time, most of my driving is city.

What are the chances of finding a dak with the 8.25 rearend and with 4.10 gears at a wrecker hahaha.

Thanks for now guys.

Very very rare cause they never came with 4.10's. 3.92's would be the best you would find. I have 4.10's and hate them coarse they wont swap cause my axle makes yours look like a tooth pick lol

FWIW I went to 4.10's and the shop charged me $1000 for one end. But he's a damn good guy so I was willing to drive 30 miles each way and pay more for a quality job. I have 29.5's right now (the regear was for racing and to unload the motor, not tire matching) and honestly I would say go for it. The trans going into OD in the city probably will rarely happen with that big of a tire- I'd be more worried about turning 1200 rpm on the highay and the trans going in and out of OD. Keep in mind that the regear will likely NOT correct your speedo. I just used a dry erase marker and re-marked the plastic window over the speedo using the GPS on my phone as a calibrator (the 29.5 tire still has an offset error).

After I do my SAS, I'd be happy to sell you my front axle with 4.10 gears, but the shipping would probably kill you. I'm going to have to keep my rear for a while, though, since it works fine and I don't really have the funds to upgrade it.
