A guy at work backed our 99 powerstroke work truck into my front bumper the other day. He's going to "take care of me" this weekend. Theres a lot of big junkyards around so i dont think i should have a shortage of options (as this was a popular vehicle, durangos too) but it needs to be SLT with the chrome top, black bottom (if not ill buy a black bottom) and NO RUST! But is this gonna be a pain in the *** to change out? anyone done it? just figured id let out my anger and see if anyone has had any problems. thanks!!!!!

 

Black bottom? All the slts have a light/dark gray bottom. Its gonna be hard to find one rust free as most of these bumpers started to rust before the truck did. Take a look on ebay and your local craigslist to see if you can find one in good condition.

 

Not hard to change out. Finding what you want be the hardest part.

 

I have pulled my bummer off a few times it’s not hard at all new is cheap but I don’t know about a chrome one.

This was a few years ago but if I remember it was only $45 for a black one I don’t remember where I got it but it was online.

Wow I just looked they have gone up in price $100 and up

 

You'd be best just to go with the black bumper...

All the chrome ones that I see are absolute junk, I have a friend with a 2008 Ram that he had undercoated and already his rear chrome bumper is rusting from the inside out.

 

Well i didnt get it yet but i found a NEW chrome upper front bumper for $87! steal! Im telling the guy that backed into me it was 127 total as that was most of the prices on ebay maybe with his extra and some of my own money ill get a new grille. Which brings me to another question. I want a billet grille, i dont want the junk with like 6 big horizontal bars, i like the one with smaller more bars, looks better. But im trying to find one with no outer chrome ring, id like one thats JUST billet, from headlight to headlight. I cant seem to find one, or any pictures of dakotas with one.
