Default needing a key

when i got my truck a few monthes ago. i only got 1 key.i was wondering if it has a chip in it .it is black plastic on the top. if it is how do i set it for my truck. 2004 sport

If you have a black key, wally world or any regular place can copy it.

If you have the gray key, it's $150 at the dealer, they have to program the CTM to the new key.

You can do it yourself if you already have two keys, but that doesn't help you at all.

well depends if you want it to run your truck or not. If it has a chip you can still get a reg key cut and it will unlock your doors and run the accessories but when you start it the truck will shut right back off

someone had told me the keys with the black plastic didnt have a chip thats 2 people that told me

Thats right if its black and thin it doesnt have a chip. If its gray and thick it has a chip.
