ok, my CEL light is typically on, and I'm too lazy to go get it read at Autozone....I've noticed lately, however, that it will flash at me 4-5 times, for several times in a row, and then sometime remain on, and sometimes it will go off...

do I need to just get off my lazy butt and go have the code read?

98 till newer will show codes in the odo. Just get in shut the door turn the key on-off-on-off then back on and they code will be displayed in the odo. I used to do it on my 98 all the time.

 

right on....its a 1999 Dak with the 3.9L 4x4 manual trans....

I'll drop in Autozone next week and have them hook it up....

like a dumbass, im gonna ask it.. will that trick work with the 2000 dak's? i mean that would be cool to have on the fly as i dont bring my scan tool with me all the time. (i use an AutoTap USB ODBII reader, with real time info)
