Default 2002 dakota quad cab v6 4x4 transmission help!!!

So today I left work and drove few miles and my tranny went (I think?) rpms were revving but wouldn't go, I couldn't pull over cuz I was on a bridge so
I had to keep Going until I could pull off, when I did there was a puddle of tranny fluid underneath, I checked level with dipstick and it was empty and hott!! Hard to say where it's leaking from cuz its all over under truck and a puddle in the shield under fan, so I walked to parts store and all they had was one quart of tranny fluid so I put that in and not still wouldn't go, should it have atleast moved after i put the quart in??

one quart wont do anything if you blew it completely dry. Sounds to me like you broke a convertor weld, lost a front pump seal, or a cooler line ruptured.

How should I check for the leak? Is there a website that might have a picture or video of where each seal or line is to check? It here is alot of fluid under fan but also there is a lot on passenger side by the passenger wheel comtrols
