Default TPS going out fast

What could cause a tps sensor to go out fast? I put a new tps on my truck and a month later boom it went out with no warning while i was driving. What could cause this?

90% of the time if it fails that quick it was faulty from manufacturer...

did you put it in or did a tire shop?

id say try another tps unit, as well as checking the electrical connections for it.

what size motor is this truck running?

and when i asked if a tire shop put it on, i misread the post and thought u had said TPMS... my b dood..

1998 5.2l and i put a new one on it and it is running fine but i don't want it to happen to me again while i'm driving. It sucks driving in town without being able to let off the gas. Also how would i check the connection for it?

unplug the harness, and check it for corrosion, from what i've seen, corrosion is a big factor in electrical parts failing, as for voltages and things of that nature, a little outta my league. usually when there's corrosion, its acting as a resistor, limiting the amount of voltage and amperage to pass through the circuit,

idk if your local auto parts has a good code reader but the one i bought has a reading of the tps so if you dont touch the gas it will read 0 and with key on engine off you floor it re read the sensor and it should have a almost 100% reading 99% of the time i get 99% for working properly
