That's your best bet.

My biggest issue is the fan. Not everything runs at once, but the fan kills alot.

29 degrees out

Battery was 11.89 sitting, 11.24 with low beams and HID's on, key off. Was slow to crank again. 14.37 running with lows and HID's on, no fan.

what needs to be determined is the amperage between the alt and the batt, if the alt is putting out 14v thats right in the threshold. im still dead set on the bad cell in the battery

Each cell- 2.1V x 6 cells = 12.6-12.8 nominal 'off' voltage

2.1V x 5 cells = 10.5 V

The actual voltage splits the difference, so a bas cell is possible.

It could be an intermittent problem or never show up on a test I had a battery like that one time you tested it over and over and always came out as ok I decided to change it and no more problem

You nailed it. 9.9 volts, click click click. Got a start boost by university PD, went to the AZ near campus, free replacement. It's a grou 34 BTW, 800x1000 CCA, 105 minute reserve.

oh, I checked voltage with the new battery. With fan on is 13.7 at the cabin power outlet, fan off is 14.1. So not too big of a drop. But I'm sure the alternator is at 60+% load.
