I have seen a company like Boler tran online that offer up a rebult tranny witja few tricks like a better converte for a good price shipped with a warrenty, they will take about an afternoon to swap out then you ship your core back to them.

Default $5,000? Seriously?

IPT Performance Transmissions offers a A500/42RE/44RE for $2,495. Add a new convertor to that for $180 and you've a completely fresh, bullet-proof tranny for around US$3,000 installed.
