Default Winter gas, No Ethanol...make sense?

Guess I just want to hear it....

Even Ethanol Free gas has a winter mix, right? After cleaning the intake (vacuuming in Sea Foam), replacing the plugs and getting the truck in "perfect working order", I had a long highway trip where I could test the mileage. When it calculated to 16.7, I felt a little cheated; then I remembered the winter mix and should expect a lower average.

The best I ever got in the past was a tick over 19 mpg with or without Ethanol (don't think it ever got above 20).

If Ethanol Free doesn't have a winter mix, then something really sucks here.

What do you think?

You can test it, if you are super concerned. If it doesn't say "no ethanol" I would say it had ethanol.

Winter gas + winter time = you're gonna get bad gas mileage.

I thought winter gas was just a different blend of ethanol. I wouldnt really worry about it. Heck im only getting 16mpg out of my truck right now.

I didn't post a good title. I know normal winter blend has Ethanol.

What I meant to ask is more along the lines if I purchase No Ethanol, will there still be a winter blend associated with it. By the sounds of it, there is and the 16.7 mpg is probably pretty good right now.

4.7 3.55 quad 4x4

Thanks y'all!

Yes at least up here they have a winter blend in unleaded no ethanol gas.
They call it oxygenated. Fuel mileage will drop.

How have you never gotten 20+ with the 4.7? I got 22 with my old 5.2 on the freeway at 70.

Yes there is still a "winter blend" associated. You might get better gas mileage with no ethanol, test it and see!
