Default 1999 Dakota 5.2 2wd auto

First off hello this is my first post on the forums

ok just bought a 99 dakota, that was slipping (I knew at the time) got it for 900.00

so I drive it home only slipping in what i thought was first,
parked it checked the fluid after i found out it need to be checked in nuetral it was 1.5 quarts low added the fluid and drove it, it was doing better then threw a p1757 gov. pressure above 3psi when at 0mph or something close to that. The Trans guy said it was starting in 2nd that is why it was hopping all signs pointed to the 2 gov. sensors

Thought about doing it myself but was having trouble finding the parts, and what i found it would have cost just a little less for the Trans shop I went to (was suggested to me buy a good friend)

He dropped the pan today and there was a good bit of metal on the magnet he said it wouldnt be worth it to replace the sensors and it needs to be rebuilt.

I told him to change the filter and top it off so i could drive it home.
I plan to try and find a used transmission

My question is should i flush and change the sensors myself Pending another pan drop if its clean or poor gas on it and set it on fire. lol
