Default screwing with my rear suspension

our rear leaf springs have an additional super stiff leaf on the bottom of the pack. I know on rams these can be taken out to provide less axle hop and thus a smoother ride. yes I know it decreases the payload in the bed, but having a quad cab I can barely fit much anyways and I would make the sacrifice for a smoother ride. anybody know if you can remove this single leaf like in the rams? or do I need a whole new leaf pack?

Yes, you can remove it. It's just an overload leaf. But doing so won't really affect the ride quality very much, since it hardly does anything unless the truck is heavily loaded.

is there anything I can do to the front and or rear suspension to make it better. I hate the way my truck rides... I got a friend who is a decent fabricator and he thinks coil overs up front could be a possibility, thus eliminating the torsion bars.

It's a truck. You can expect truck ride quality. If you want a smooth riding on a cloud feel, you can always upgrade to a Chrysler 300.
