Advice on a used 1997 SLT
Hey, I found a 1997 Dodge SLT with 280,000 Km running in pretty good shape. I'm only really concerned with a couple things: Bottoms of the Doors are pretty rusted, and the Oil pressure is low when the truck idles (within' the operating range on the gauge but still quite low). I was thinking the bearings might be worn or the oil pump could use a change. The truck runs quite well all in all. I need some advice on what to offer? I was thinking $1500 Canadian or $1450 US Dollar.
Thanks

I wouldn't pay that much for such a high mileage Dakota.
The reason for the oil pressure is most likely the plenum gasket - its a common problem. Doors can be replaced, but finding one the right colour = good luck, or having to paint them will cost you big $$$.
Plus there is bound to be issues with the tranny soon, our trannies suck
