Start up prob

Default Start up prob

Hey guys this is my first post here. Ive read around an this fourm seems to have some smart an helpful people. Now off to my prob. When I start my 2000 dodge dakots sport 4x4 3.9 v6 it wont idle like I have to keep it in park an keep my foot on the gas (auto btw) ive replaced the distributor, plugs, wires, roater. I have checked the vacuum hoses an can not seem to find whats wrong. Last night I started my truck went 3 feet an it started puddering an it wasnt I guess getting gas or something then it started gaing rpms an speed fine after about 10 sec I was thinking maybe pick up ignition or a asd? Any feedback be amazing oh one more thing thid has been happining for about 6 months off an on it stopped for about 2 months an now it just started up again!!! Any help please im so lost lol

Go to AutoZone they can check to see if your battery is bad for free most auto stores will do this.

But it could be the IAC or the TPS or the MAP sensor

Have you cleaned your throttle body yet?

I replaced the battery last week with a new one im going to try cleaning the throttle body when I get home

Does it continue to do this after it is warmed up?
You said "start up problem" which made me think that when it warmed up it was ok.

Could be the Coolant Temp Sensor.

Sorry ha it did it even when it was warmed up bug I cleaned the throttle body an everything seems to be working fine now thanks for the help guys!!

Well maybe I havnt. Now after I cleaned it it was running fine. But sometimes now when i start up an take off warm or cold it pudders an makes loud popping sounds an is very boggy for about 10-15 sec then I smell strong gas hmm
