Default Tailgate Locks

Every year, I take my wife's Durango on a 400 mile trip because it gets better mileage than my Ram. Now, I have a Dakota that gets better mileage than that, so I'd like to take it. Trouble is, a bunch of us golf for 4 days and leave our clubs in our vehicles overnight either at the casino or the golf course (due to a little heavy drinking paired with a sober cab) and I don't trust ANYBODY with my golf clubs, let alone being unlocked in the bed. I have a tonneau cover, but no lock on my tailgate.

My question is, which locks out there are the best? I've heard the Bully looks decent, but has problems in the salt ring, while the manual Pop & Lock kind of has mixed reviews. I think I like the idea of the power Pop & Lock, but I'm not sure how difficult that would be to install. Does anybody have that one and possibly some pointers for installation? I see I can get one that fits my '03 Dakota for under $80 on Amazon.

I've never actually seen one, but customers have told me that this lock is really nice quality. Check 'em out. We have no connection with them, just one of those things I've heard about and have in my bag of suggestions.

I can get the Pop & Lock cheaper, but it only has a one year warranty. The one you suggest has 5 years and is made in the USA while Pop & Lock doesn't specify. I'll definitely think about it and add it t my list of possibilities.

I take it you have a hard tonneau cover. If not its useless. Its really up to you as far as hooking the power one up It wont be that hard just a few wires and thats it. Should be supplied with the kit so just have to tap somewhere under the dash.
