Default New Brakes

So the Dakota got new brakes for the first time since I've owned it (~65k miles). As you can see the passenger's side caliber was seized up... Didn't really notice it driving but the pads show it and it was very difficult to push the piston back into the caliber. Passenger side also need a new hub assembly.

There was no wear indicator on these pads. I was waiting for that start squeaking, and it never did.

I put NAPA pads and rotors on. They were there middle of the road line. I think they call it Premium, but that have Ultra Premium or something that's even better. The pads were $50 for the set and each rotor was like $35. The caliber was $50 + $27 core.

They brake really well, for a Dakota anyway. The brakes have never been this good since I bought it. Plus with the new wheel bearings, it drives awesome right now. Feels like a brand new truck.

As far as driving. I do a little of everything. It sees dirt roads, highway, city... I don't take it offroading so to speak anymore. It does see a lot of dirt roads since that's all there is in Vermont and Northern NY where I spend all of my time. It is a 5 speed which is why I got the old ones to last so long.

So far, they're great. They brake better than my girl friends IS250.
