Default Heater is blowing warm air ...

Yeah, I know that's what it's supposed to do, but with the heat turned on not turned off.
I'm about to make a trip south to you folks down in the Lower 48.
A/C has never been something I've worried too about much.
So, it is not working right now, actually never has.
I do not have time to spend fixing it before I begin the trip.

I've noticed that the air coming out of the vents when the heat is turned completely off, is still quite warm.
I assume that the door that diverts the air through the heater core is not completely opening or closing as it should.
Is this fixable without having to completely remove the dash?
