Default Transmission Compatibility

I have searched for this info but cant find it.

I have a 2000 Dakota quad Cab 4x4 with the 5.9

I found this tranny out of a 92 1500 2 wheel drive and im wondering if it is compatible with my truck...can I just change the tail housing with my transfer case. Its a 46RH A518

I did the vin# search on my truck but its inconclusive to me what I still have for a tranny here is the build codes.

Trans Order CodeDGB, DDC
Trans Type4, 5 (4.0 min/5.0max)

IM 2200 miles away from the truck right now so I cant crawl under it for any numbers or any other identification

Thanks

No it wont work... you need a RE (electronically controlled) transmission and that is a RH (hydraulically controlled).. IIRC after '97 is what year your looking for a donor.
