Default Best sounding replacement muffler 4.7 stock exhaust

My tailpipe rusted and broke off right at the muffler. It's just hanging there now. So I figured it's time for a new muffler that sounds better than stock. What sounds better on a stock exhaust? Magnaflow or flowmaster?

I saw some vids on youtube of the magnaflow and it sounds pretty bad ***. But in real life does it sound that good? Which muffler will make it sound like a bad *** truck?

The spintech sportsman street 3000 sounds bad *** on my 4.7. I have a video on youtube that for some reason it got a little raspy but that is the only time I ever heard that rasp sound from it was in that video. Everyone I talk to says the Dakota sounds bad ***. Since I have only put 1100 miles on the truck since March, if I did it again I'd probably go with the 6000 which is smaller and louder but the 3000 is also pretty noisy for a daily driver.

It really depends on what you want. Do you just want a lot of noise or do you want a good tone to it? Everyone has different opinions too. I have a Hooker Aerochamber and it has good tone, but it's too quite for my liking.

Unfortunately there is no right answer for your question. Just like a motorcycle some people are all about volume while others want a certain tone and loudness while others are content to be as quiet as possible.
See if you can find some soundclips of some of the systems and try to get an idea what they each sound like.
Personally I like the sound of the Gibson exhaust but it is not much louder than stock. Also I don't want a rear exit exhaust. But to each their own.
Good luck. Wish I could help more.

I am on my 2nd truck with a 4.7 and am a muffler junkie. I currently have a Flowmaster 50 Delta Flow, but I have a 14" 1in/2out Magnaflow sitting in the garage. In all I have had 6-7 different mufflers on the 4.7 and my favorite was the Gibson Super truck exhaust. It was awesome but loud in my QC Ram. I have several exhaust videos on youtube just search for jpayne80.

bpark, I had the aerochamber too and love the spintech I have now, it's louder than the aerochamber but still has the bad *** tone and sound that it had. plus we can make it sound even more bad *** by downshifting :-)
