Default Steering components

So I am finally biting the bullet and getting ready to replace my steering gear box since I am getting tired of it leaking and having to add oil especially since I do it every other week it seems like. My question is what is the common size for the studs on the idler arm? In looking it shows a 14mm and a 12mm, being that I was going to be under there I was going to change that and the pitman arm at the same time since either of them have been replaced to my knowledge which means they have 216k miles on them. Any advice would be great before I get into it. Also I'm looking at pulling off the hood liner off my truck since it is starting to sag pretty bad and just looks tacky. Any pro's or con's to that? Thanks for in advance for any advice.
