Default 4x4 problems

01 dakota. 4.7 5 speed manual. All lights work on switch but when i go to switch it to 4 hi or 4 lo all lights including nuetrul flash and keep flashing. Then 4x4 fault light will pop on on dash. When i turn switch it sounds like it tries to go but then stops. I already replaced the shift motor for transger case. At a loss anu suggestions? Thanks.

Have you replaced the switch itself? Also are you in neutral when doing this? Im not familiar with the manual tranny procedures with the electric shift bc mines auto but it can be finicky sometime.

I have not replaced the switch and on my truck to switch to 4hi it doesnt have to be in nuetral but for 4lo the clutch has to be pressed and stopped. Think my problem may be the tccm??? Can i add video on here?

UPDATE: Got in to go to town and look down at the switch. NO LIGHTS and SERVICE 4WD light was on. Now gathering that information and knowing what ive read that all leads me to the TCCM. I will check all fuses when i get back just to be sure tho.

TCCM does sound bad. It's a PIA to get to... you just have to stay focused and understand you will lose blood.

Good luck!
