ouch, 600 pounds? That's mighty heavy for a 4-banger! I'm not even sure what front springs to suggest. Stock V8 springs sure won't do it.

Our 565 race block is something like 400 pounds on the engine stand (raw stock block was 205 pounds, DART race block is 270) . Transmission is another 125 pounds. And a big block chevy should weigh a hell of a lot more than a small block mopar.

i found specs for the 360 5.9 550-600 depending if it is California or not California is 50 lbs heavier

I posted some new pictures on photobucket http://s1125.photobucket.com/user/de...dakota%20build

did a pan modification this mod will give me 3" of extra height should sit better in the engine bay less of a hood scoop I will need a hood scoop for the inter-cooler anyway and the fuel pump is mounted 14psi

Drew the guy I bought this engine from did me a huge favor he had the sn for the engine

I had taken the plate off and it got misplaced but now I am good

600 pounds for the 5.9 gas motor? Something don't seem right there...

wow. didn't realize the assembly was that heavy. Like i said, we scaled our stuff when we got it. 270 for the block, iron heads are 70 a piece, our aluminums are 45 a piece, crank is 50 pounds or so, each piston is 630 grams (11 pounds total), connecting rods are 815 grams (14 pounds total), intake manifold is 25 pounds. That adds up to 460 pounds (510 pounds if you want the iron head number). And that's for a 565 inch big block.

yea but you don't have an ac unit power steering and probably not an alternator and headers instead of cast iron exhaust manifolds it all adds weight

and I think Mopar has usually had a heavier engine than gm any way
